The Macrotek Packed Tower Scrubber utilizes a vertical counter-current design for high efficient absorption of toxic gases. Efficiencies of 99.9% or greater are not unsusual for many scrubbing applications. In addition to its extensive uses in air pollution control, the packed tower can serve as gas/liquid contactor for many process applications.

In the vertical counter-current design, gas flows upward through a packed bed while scrubbing liquid flows down over the packing material.

Entrained liquids are removed by high efficiency mist eliminators.
