Macrotek MST Spray Tower scrubbers use a vertical counter current design. Gas enters the tower base and flows upward through several stages of spray zones.

The number of these spray zones, their configuration and the style of the spray nozzles is customized for each scrubbing application.

Macrotek use the MST scrubbers primarily for inorganic gas absorption applications, principally Flue Gas Desulphurization.

Typical gas absorption efficiencies run from 90% to 99% depending on the design parameters, temperature of the incoming gas, the pollutant being scrubbers and the reagent used in the scrubber.

Principal advantages of the MST scrubber are its low pressure drop, and high resistance to plugging.
